Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step in your life. Tip toe if you must but take the step!”
Well. that was Clare in 2018! After a 30-year career at senior management level in local government and a life of multi-tasking family and work life, her ‘wheels fell off’ and she needed a change and refocus. Inspired by her early career roots and degrees in Sports Science and PE teaching, and enthusiasm for an active lifestyle, Clare first committed to a regular yoga practice and fell in love! Clare’s personal practice is Ashtanga yoga, and her passion for the practice has grown because it makes her feel stronger, more flexible, calmer, and inspired to achieve; and she can see improvement like no other practice.
Over the last 5 years, Clare has studied the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Foundation Course and qualified as a BWYQ L4 500-hour Diploma in Yoga Teacher. She is also an accredited Menopause Yoga teacher and trained Ashtanga teacher with the renowned David Swenson. As a qualified Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC) Diploma Practitioner in Executive / Business Coaching, Clare tries to enhance her yoga teaching with conversation skills to support students who want to improve their health and wellbeing.
Clare firmly believes yoga is for ‘every body’ and aims to vary yoga practice to meet all needs, as well as support, motivate and provide the tools to anyone facing life’s mental and physical challenges to keep as mobile and active as possible for them, take moments to restore, and help reduce stress, anxiety and overwhelm – and at 60 years old she can definitely say it’s never too late to start!
